CAVESIDE MONDAY
The funeral of the late Mr Alex Oliver took place on Saturday afternoon, at the residence of Mr Cunningham Needles where the deceased died. A short service was conducted by Mr Little the newly appointed ministers assistant before the funeral started. The cortege was one of the largest ever seen in the Deloraine district, there being 46 vehicles, 50 horsemen, besides pedestrians. The pallbearers were members of the Chudleigh Road Trust, Messrs Briscoe, Scott, Pearn, Trustees and the Secretary. Amongst those present were Councilors Cole (Warden) J Griffith, J I Smith and C G Hall representing the Council, J Best MHA and Mr A E Wellard representing the Wesleyan local preachers. The service at the grave was conducted by Rev D B Bridge-Wood, Chairman of the district, assisted by the Rev F E Willard, the former ably addressing those gathered upon the painful circumstances of the case and the life and character of the deceased. Deep sympathy is felt for the widow and seven children, and quite as much also for the three foster children Miss A Robertson and Masters J & R Robertson who by this sad event are deprived of a second father.

The three foster Children were the Children of Eliza Jane's sister Martha Clara Wyatt and Robert Robertson Robert died aged 38 a year after his last child was born
Alex and Eliza had eight children: Nina Emily, Ernest William, Claude, Annie Alexandra, Walter Albert, Norman Newton, Ivy Isabel Margaret and Olive Laurel.

OBITUARY 9 Sep 1911
The death is announced today of Mrs William Wyatt of Dunorlan while on a visit to her son Mr Robert Wyatt at Beulah. The deceased lady has been in very poor health for some considerable time and was seriously ill some months ago, but rallied and was able to be about and to make the trip mentioned above. On Tuesday she became so seriously unwell That a doctor had to be brought from Sheffield, The illness reaching a fatal termination on Thursday morning. Mrs. Wyatt was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. William Oliver and came to the district with her parents some 50 years ago when the family settled at Northwood. She married Mr. William Wyatt and since then has resided continuously in the Dunorlan area.
She leaves three sons and two daughters to mourn their loss. These are Mr. Robert Wyatt (Beulah) Mr. Hedley Wyatt (Kimberley) Mr. Charles Wyatt (Dunorlan) Mrs. A Plapp (North Motton) Mrs. Mullett (Victoria) Mr. & Mrs. Wyatt have lived with their younger son at Dunorlan since his recent marriage. The death of this highly esteemed lady has caused sincere regrets to a large circle of friends. The social virtues were hers in their truest sense. With her there was no shame. To her a friend was a friend not a social acquaintance. In her home the visitor was a welcome guest not a caller or one of a house party. In true family circle she was a loving mother and devoted wife. In the church she a loyal worker while able and an earnest Christian. Religion was to her a reality and with her the life matched the profession. Many hearts go out in warmest sympathy to the bereaved husband and children in their hour of sorrow.
The funeral will take place at the General Cemetery this afternoon.

Charles lived at Hawthorn all his life helping his father with the farm. He was a good sportsman, playing football and cricket and was a champion hurdler. During the great depression, they turned to cheese making, and often exhibited their cattle at shows. Charles worked so hard that he neglected his health and by the time that he sought medical attention his stomach cancer had become inoperable and he died quite young.

Mr Charles WYATT who died in a Launceston Private Hospital after a short illness was born in the Dunorlan District 54 years ago and had resided there for the whole of his life. He was the youngest son of Mr & Mrs S W WYATT well remembered and highly respected pioneers of the district. The deceased followed agricultural pursuits & was a successful competitor for many years at the leading agricultural shows with Ayreshire cattle. In his younger days he was a noted athlete, excelling as a hurdle racer, figuring on the scratch mark at a time when the state had many able exponents of this sport. He was also a high class performer on the football and cricket field's, being an active participant in the latter game until a few weeks before his death. The late Mr WYATT was closely connected with the Forrest Hall Methodist Church of which he was superintendent for many years. He was mainly responsible for the village hall, erected in recent years. Educational matters also held his attention, he being Chairman of the local Parents Association for some years. The funeral took place in Deloraine Cemetery on Sunday afternoon. A large gathering of mourners assembled at the graveside to pay their last respects. Rev A R Newman officiated at the graveside.
Obituary The funeral of the late Mr Charles Newton WYATT of "Hawthorn" Dunorlan took place yesterday afternoon. There was a large following. The burial service was conducted by the Rev A R Newman. The late Mr WYATT was a successful farmer, noted cheese maker, breeder f Ayrshire cattle, all round athlete and champion hurdle racer. A son of the late Mr & Mrs William WYATT, he followed in his fathers footsteps as a superintendent of the Forrest Hall Methodist Sunday School, a position which he had held for the past thirty years. He was a church steward & also circuit steward and was largely responsible for the new church hall recently erected near to Forrest Hall Church. He leaves a widow a daughter of Mr & Mrs F SHARMAN (Weegan), a son Mr Headley WYATT (Dunorlan) & two daughters Florrie WYATT ( Port Sorrell) & Wilva WYATT ( Dunorlan). The chief mourners were the Widow and the family Messrs Headly and Robert WYATT (Brothers) & H HOLLETT (Brother in law). The carriers were the four nephews Messrs C & R WYATT F. SHARMAN & C CRAWFORD and the pallbearers Messrs T O'GRADY, E MC KENZIE, J HEALEY, A.J.OLIVER E & H STEPHENS
