George Bushby arrived from England at the fledgling Swan River settlement in 1829 as an employee of the pioneering Henty family. Swan River in 1829 was a marginal proposition, and in 1832 George moved to Van Diemen's Land, again with the Henty family and settled in Launceston where he did significantly better than he had in the west.
They had seven children: William, Richard, Charles, George, Sarah, Mary and Frank.

OBITUARY MR. W. CALDWELL
The death occurred early yesterday morning at his residence, 23 Wilmot street, Launceston, of Mr. William Caldwell, at the age of 88 years. He was born at Longford, and was employed at Mr. F. Walker and Son's florist establishment for many years. Mr. Caldwell in his young days was interested in foot-running and after wards was the trainer of many good athletes in the late J. Pugh, J. Arnott, D. Eastburn, Ralph Place, H. Moss, and many others.
Members of the family were-Sons: Richard, who was lost in the 'plane Miss Hobart in Bass Strait, Leonard who was accidentally drowned at the Second Basin many years ago, and Messrs. James, Jack and W. Caldwell (Launceston) ; daughters, Mrs. F. Bushby, who died in America, Mesdames Smith, F. Waller and L. Collis, of Launceston. . He is survived also by his wife. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon.

Mr Norman Holmes Bushby died suddenly at his home, 62 High St. Launceston, on Saturday. He was aged 49 years. Mr Bushby was a son of the late Mr and Mrs G. F. Bushby, Launceston. He was born at Carrick, and educated at the Launceston Church Grammar School, where he took a prominent part in sport. He was captain of the school cricket and football teams, and later played senior cricket, football, and tennis in Launceston.
Mr Bushby was employed for a short time at the Bank of Australasia, but later joined his father in business and was associated with the firm of Bushby and Co., estate agents, in Launceston for 30 years. He was a member of the Launceston Stock Exchange and Paterson St. Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Lily Dora Cartledge, and three sons, Russell, Douglas, and Maxwell. Brothers are Messrs. Harold Bushby (Launceston) and George Bushby (Sydney). The funeral will take place at Carr Villa cemetery today.
They had three sons: Russell, Douglas and Maxwell Holmes.
