Andrew Murray

4-Andrew Murray JP was born in 1821 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, died on 7 Sep 1889 in Toorak, Victoria at age 68, and was buried in Booroondarra Cemetery, Kew, Victoria.

 Andrew Murray was another pastoralist, a younger brother of Hugh Murray. He was married to the sister of David Stodart. His main property was Wool Wool, north of Lake Colac, adjoining Stodart's Corunnun. Andrew Murray was appointed as a magistrate in 1857. He established a home in Melbourne during the 1860s, but retained his interest in Wool Wool until his death in 1889. Like his brother Hugh and brother-in-law John Calvert, he was a supporter of the Presbyterian congregation.

Andrew married Elizabeth Bradfute Stodart, daughter of Dr. Robert Stodart and Maria, in 1850 in Gow's Chapel, Wardy Yallock Presbyterian Parish, Colac, Victoria. Elizabeth was born on 26 Sep 1830 in Hobart, Tasmania, was christened on 26 Sep 1930, died in 1891 in Colac, Victoria at age 61, and was buried in 1891 in Booroondarra Cemetery, Kew, Victoria. 5-Anne Murray

Anne Murray was born in 1853 in Wool Wool Station, Colac Victoria and died in 1942 in East Melbourne, Victoria at age 89. Anne married George Pringle Robertson, son of William Robertson and Margaret Whyte, on 18 May 1871 in Scot's Church, Melbourne, Victoria. George was born on 22 Aug 1842 in Hobart, Tasmania and died in 1895 in Cororooke, Colac, Victoria at age 53. They had five children: Hilda Constance, Charles Edward Meredith, George Norman, Colin Pringle and Lorna Bessie.

6-Hilda Constance Robertson was born on 2 Mar 1872 in Marlton, East Saint Kilda, Victoria and died on 12 Oct 1886 in Ragatz, Switzerland at age 14.

6-Charles Edward Meredith Robertson was born on 12 Jul 1873 in "Coragulac", Victoria and died on 19 Jan 1875 in Campbell Town, Tasmania at age 1.

6-George Norman Robertson was born in Feb 1876 in "Coragulac", Victoria and died in Apr 1964 at age 88.   George was pastoralist and grazier, of " Merose Station", Via Leanora, Western Australia. George married Margaret Winter-Irving, daughter of The Honourable William Irving Winter-Irving MLC and Frances Taylor, in 1902 in Melbourne, Victoria. Margaret was born in 1874 and died in 1956 in Melbourne, Victoria at age 82. They had three children: George Pringle, William Irving and Norman John.

7-George Pringle Robertson was born on 30 May 1903 in London, England and died on 20 Aug 1953 at age 50. George was pastoralist and grazier. George married Margaret Kidd Richardson, daughter of Alfred Henry Richardson and Unknown, on 27 May 1947 in Dandaloo, New South Wales. Margaret was born on 27 May 1947 in Dandaloo, New South Wales. They had two children: Penelope Pringle and Diana Pringle.

7-William Irving Robertson was born on 14 Sep 1905 in Melbourne. William married Patricia Chute Ellis, daughter of William Hamilton Chute Ellis and Unknown, on 11 Jun 1938 in Hamilton, Victoria. Patricia was born in 1907. They had one daughter: Janet.

6-Colin Pringle Robertson was born on 6 Apr 1879 in Colac, Victoria and died in 1955 at age 76. Colin married his second cousin Aileen Calvert, daughter of Robert Hamilton Calvert J. P. and Maria Jane Stodart. Aileen was born in 1880 in Geelong, Victoria and died on 8 May 1936 in Camperdown, Victoria at age 56. They had three children: Jean Margaret, Elizabeth Colin and Patricia Colin.

7-Jean Margaret Robertson was born in 1903 in Melbourne, Victoria and died on 10 Nov 1973 in Toorak, Victoria at age 70. Jean died unmarried and without children

7-Elizabeth Colin Robertson was born in 1911 in Melbourne, Victoria and died in Colac, Victoria. Elizabeth married William Roderick Lillie, son of William Edgeworth Lillie and Unknown, in 1933. William was born in 1909. They had two children: Robert Edgeworth and Peter Edgeworth.

8-Robert Edgeworth Lillie was born on 27 Jul 1934.

8-Peter Edgeworth Lillie was born in 1937. Peter married Patricia Ann Nicholson in 1965. Patricia was born in 1944.

7-Patricia Colin Robertson was born in 1916 in Colac, Victoria and died on 28 Apr 1966 in Melbourne, Victoria at age 50. Patricia died unmarried and without children.

6-Lorna Bessie Robertson was born in 1880 in "Marlton", East St. Kilda, Victoria and died in 1948 in Melbourne, Victoria at age 68. Lorna married The Honourable Sir George Fairbairn in 1924. George was born on 23 Mar 1855 and died on 23 Oct 1943 in Melbourne, Victoria at age 88.

5-Andrew Murray

Andrew Murray was born in 1854 in Wool Wool Station, Colac Victoria and died in 1918 in Langley Vale Estate, Kyneton, Victoria at age 64.  Andrew was a grazier; of "Holmchase", Colac; "Elderslie", New Gisborne, And "Langley Vale, Via Kyneton. Andrew married Amy Louise Phillips, daughter of Henry Phillips and Mary Edols. Amy was born in Warrnambool, Victoria and died in Kyneton, Victoria.  They had one son: Alan.

6-Alan Murray was born on 12 Oct 1898 in Grisbourne, Victoria and died in 1977 in Lang Lang, Victoria at age 79. Alan was a pastoralist and grazier, of "Langley Vale", Via Kyneton, Victoria. In 1918 Alan Murray enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces, 3rd. Army Field Artillery Brigade, in which he served for the duration of World War I. Alan married Evelyn Alexa Court, daughter of Reginald Heber Drury Court and Mary Elexa McLeod. Evelyn was born on 17 Dec 1900 in Queensland. They had one son: Vereker Robert Ross.

7-Vereker Robert Ross Murray was born on 26 Feb 1934. Vereker was a pastoralist and grazier, of "Langley Vale", Via Kyneton, Victoria.

5-David Edmund Murray

David Edmund Murray was born on 24 May 1855 in Wool Wool Station, Colac Victoria and died in 1939 in East Kew, Victoria at age 84.   David was pastoralist and grazier. He was educated at Melbourne Church of England Grammar School, Melbourne, Victoria.   In 1873 he was a member of the School XI, XX and Athletic Teams.   In 1882 he acquired 'Morestone Downs Station' in Queensland.   He sold it in 1909 and purchased 'Roslyn Estate' at Taggerty, Victoria.   He remained at 'Roslyn Estate' until 1926, when he retired to live at Melbourne, Victoria.  David married Mary Druce. Mary was born in 1886 and died in 1927 in South Melbourne, Victoria at age 41. They had four children: Ivy Madelaine, Alma, Irene Victoria and Marjorie Beatrice.

6-Ivy Madelaine Murray was born in 1899 in Queensland and died in 1963 in Camberwell, Victoria at age 64.

6-Alma Murray died on 5 Dec 1936 in Richmond, Victoria. Alma married Donald Frederick Kerr on 10 Apr 1928.

5-Elizabeth Bradfute Murray

Elizabeth Bradfute Murray was born in 1856 in Wool Wool Station, Colac Victoria and died on 24 Dec 1946 in West Monton, Somerset, England at age 90. Elizabeth married her first cousin, Leonard Murray Calvert, son of John Calvert and Jane Murray, on 2 Feb 1886 in St John's Church, Toorak, Victoria. Leonard was born on 16 Feb 1852 in Irrewarra Station, Colac, Victoria and died on 12 Sep 1911 in Colac, Victoria at age 59. They had three children: Leonard Murray, Errol Murray and Colin Murray.

6-Leonard Murray Calvert was born on 1 Mar 1888 in Toorak, Victoria and died on 6 Mar 1970 in Geelong, Victoria at age 82. Leonard married Annie Moddie James, daughter of John James and Mary Ann Baker, on 24 Jul 1913 in St. Matthew's Church, Albury, New South Wales. Annie was born in 1888 and died in 1966 in Geelong, Victoria at age 78. They had two children: Leonard Murray and Stuart Murray James.

7-Leonard Murray Calvert was born on 21 Dec 1921 in Colac, Victoria and died before 2000. Leonard  died unmarried and without children.

7-Stuart Murray James Calvert was born on 25 May 1927 in Colac, Victoria. Stuart married Dorothy Parker in 1950.  They had two children: Peter and Jane.

6-Errol Murray Calvert was born on 17 Nov 1889 in Colac, Victoria, died on 23 Sep 1902 in Prahran, Victoria at age 12, and was buried in Booroondarra Cemetery, Kew, Victoria.

6-Colin Murray Calvert was born on 26 Mar 1894 in Ondit, Victoria and died on 15 Sep 1974 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England at age 80. Colin was a member of the British Expeditionary Force from 1916 - 1918.   He was a Lieutenant in the R.A.S.C.  Colin married Dorothy Elsie Chubb.  They had one son: David Murray.

7-David Murray Calvert was born on 7 Jul 1919 in Ondit, Victoria and died on 3 Jun 1968 at age 48. David married Coralie Fairbairn, daughter of Wing Commander Charles Osborn Fairbairn and Irene Florence Ridley, in 1940. Coralie was born in 1921. They had four children: Elizabeth Ann, Catherine, Sarah Jane and Charles Murray Fairbairn.

8-Elizabeth Ann Calvert was born on 21 Apr 1950. Elizabeth married David Sawers, son of Brian Sawers and Unknown, in Dec 1971.

8-Catherine Calvert was born on 30 Aug 1951.

8-Sarah Jane Calvert was born on 2 Sep 1955. Sarah married Simon Lindsay Tallent in 1977.

5-Robert Stuart Murray

Robert Stuart Murray was born on 15 Jul 1859 in "Wool Wool Station", Colac, Victoria and died on 28 Feb 1918 in Wool Wool Station, Colac Victoria at age 58. He was a pastoralist and grazier; of "Wool Wool Station", Colac, Victoria. Robert was educated at Hawthorn Grammar School, Hawthorn, Victoria.  He excelled in athletics and he represented his school as a cricketer, footballer, and oarsman.  He captained his school Cricket Team.  He was a member of the Colac Shire Council and for a time he was the President of the Colac Shire Council.  He was a member of the Melbourne Club, and a playing member of the Colac Polo Club.  He also owned and raced race horses.

Robert married Marion Mary Manifold, daughter of John Manifold, in 1888 in Colac, Victoria. Marion was born in Purrumbete, Victoria and died on 17 Apr 1919 in London, England. They had three children: Archibald Stuart, Gordon Manifold and Thomas Peter.

6-Archibald Stuart Murray was born in 1891 in Wool Wool Station, Colac Victoria and died in Dec 1929 in England at age 38. He served in World War 1. Archibald married Helen Roberts or Robinson  They had three children: John, Robert,and Gordon.

6-Gordon Manifold Murray was born on 24 May 1893 in Colac, Victoria, died on 10 Sep 1905 in Colac, Victoria at age 12, and was buried in Colac General Cemetery, Colac, Victoria.

6-Thomas Peter Murray was born in 1895 in Camperdown, Victoria and died on 31 Oct 1925 in Berwickshire, Scotland at age 30.

5-Agnes Hunter Murray

Agnes Hunter Murray was born in 1862 in Melbourne, Victoria and died in 1944 in Toorak, Victoria at age 82. Agnes married Arthur Mactier Cunningham, son of James McNabb Cunningham MD; LLD and Georgina Euphemia Macredie, in 1887 in South Yarra, Victoria. Arthur was born about 1862 in India and died on 9 Jul 1940 in Toorak, Victoria at age 78. They had four children: Mary, Phyllis Fairlie, Nora Bradfute and Eva Madeline.

6-Mary Cunningham was born in 1888 in Armadale, Victoria.

6-Phyllis Fairlie Cunningham was born in 1890 in Armadale, Victoria. Phyllis married Major J. C. Kininmonth. J. died in 1954. They had two children: James and Helen Mary.

6-Nora Bradfute Cunningham was born in 1892 in Armadale, Victoria and died in 1952 at age 60. Nora married N. MacQuinn in 1927 in Armadale, Victoria.

6-Eva Madeline Cunningham was born in 1894 in Armadale, Victoria and died in 1952 at age 58. Eva married Leslie Albert Austin in 1920. Leslie was born in 1889. They had three children: Derrick, Thomas Leslie and Stuart.

7-Derrick Austin was born in 1921. Derrick married Diana Nicholson.  They had three children: Helen, William and John.

7-Thomas Leslie Austin was born on 24 Sep 1923 and died on 1 Jun 2002 at age 78.  He was the M.L.A for Hampden (1972-76), the M.L.A for Ripon (1976-92), Minister of Public Works (1978-80), Minister for Property Services (1978-80), Minister of Agriculture (1980-82), Minister for Forests (1981-82), Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party (1985-87) and Sub-Lieutenant Royal Australian Navy.  Thomas married Judith Staughton. Judith died in 1984. They had four children: Deborah, Lena Vicky, Jonathan and Lisa.
