Francis French and Mary Oliver ...

1-William French was born in 1738 in St Breward, Cornwall, Engalnd and died on 27 Dec 1806 in St Winnow, Cornwall, England at age 68. William married Ann Reynolds on 26 Apr 1763 in Cornwall, England. Ann was born on 4 Sep 1743 in St Breward, Cornwall, Engalnd and died on 13 Oct 1813 in St Winnow, Cornwall, England at age 70. They had a son: Francis.

2-Francis French was born in 1791 in St Winnow, Cornwall, England, was christened on 8 Feb 1791 in St Winnow, Cornwall, England, and died on 11 Jan 1850 in Longford, Tasmania at age 59.  Francis married Mary Oliver, daughter of Charles Oliver and Jane Lean, on 21 Jun 1810 in Fowey, Cornwall, England. Mary was born in Jun 1790 in St Winnow, Cornwall, England, was christened on 27 Jun 1790 in St Winnow, Cornwall, England, died on 8 Jan 1871 in Westbury, Tasmania at age 80, and was buried in Christ Church, Longford, Tasmania. Francis and Mary had eleven children:

 

Francis French, his wife Mary and eight of their children, left England in April 1831, arriving in Van Diemen's Land on the barque Mary Ann on 23 Aug 1831. They settled in the Longford district. Francis was a lay preacher for, and a driving force behind the Wesleyan Church.
