William Wadley and Sarah Bakes

1-William Wadley, son of John Wadley and Ann Brewer, was born in 1808 in Crowmarsh Gifford, Oxfordshire, England and died on 19 Jan 1875 in Westbury, Tasmania at age 67. William married Sarah Bakes on 27 Dec 18326 at Longford, Tasmania. 

On 3 Jan 1831 William, along with his younger brother Thomas and six other men appeared before the Oxford Quarter Sessions, charged with machine-breaking. He was found guilty and sentenced to seven years transportation. William was transported aboard the Eliza, sailing from Portsmouth, on 6 Feb1831, arriving at Hobart Town, Van Diemen's Land, on 28 May 1831, after 112 days at sea.

William and Ann had eleven children:

2-Joseph Wadley was born on 24 Aug 1838 in Westbury, Tasmania and died on 23 Nov 1903 in Bracknell, Tasmania at age 65. Joseph married Louisa Hillier on 20 Jul 1864 in Longford, Tasmania. Louisa was born on 28 Sep 1842 in Launceston, Tasmania and died on 23 Jan 1910 in Cluan, Westbury, Tasmania at age 67. They had nine children:

 

3-Edith Annie Wadley was born on 1 Jun 1865 in Longford, Tasmania and died on 4 Jul 1949 in Bracknell, Tasmania at age 84. Edith married William James Prewer, son of William Prewer and Ann Page, on 17 Jun 1885 in Westbury, Tasmania. William was born on 17 Jan 1861 in Longford, Tasmania and died on 30 Apr 1946 in Bracknell, Tasmania at age 85. They had one son: Atheling George.

4-Atheling George Prewer was born on 1 Apr 1886 in Westbury, Tasmania and died on 27 Aug 1974 in Longford, Tasmania at age 88. Atheling married Kate Lacey Houghton. Kate was born on 3 May 1886 in Leicester, Leicesteshire, England and died on 13 Aug 1965 in Bracknell, Tasmania at age 79. They had a daughter: Maisie Edith.

5-Maisie Edith Prewer was born on 11 Jan 1920, died on 5 May 2005 in Toosey Memorial Hospital, Longford, Tasmania at age 85, and was buried on 9 May 2005 in Lawn Cemetery, Longford, Tasmania. Maisie married Jeffrey Isaac Badcock, son of Melvyn George Badcock and Evelyn Richardson. Jeffrey was born on 22 Aug 1918 in Cressy, Tasmania, died on 19 Jun 2002 in Launceston, Tasmania at age 83, and was buried on 24 Jun 2002 in Longford, Tasmania. They had four children: Terrence Jeffrey, Anthony John, Shirley Margaret and Pamela Maisie.
